Download 90+ free PBR textures from CC0 Textures
3D artist StruffelProductions has launched CC0 Textures, a new online library devoted to… well, the clue is probably in the title, isn’t it?
Free PBR texture sets at a choice of resolutions, for use in commercial projects
At the time of posting, the site contains nearly 100 PBR texture sets – usually colour, normal, AO, roughness and displacement – covering common real-world materials, including stone, wood, concrete and fabric.
Each is seamlessly tileable, and provided in JPG or PNG format at resolutions up to 4,096 x 4,096px or 8,192 x 8,192px, along with the Substance .sbsar file from which they were generated.
And, of course, they’re all provided under a CC0 licence, meaning that you can use them in any project you like without attribution, including for commercial work.
Designed for use in commercial models and tutorials
According to StruffelProductions, the site was founded out of a desire to help other artists avoid the legal grey area that can result from using textures from commercial resource sites.
“PBR Textures take forever to make. That’s why most artists use textures from external sources such as poliigon.com or textures.com. [The catch is that] you are not permitted to redistribute the textures as files.”
“This makes sharing or selling 3D Models unnecessarily complicated. As a creator on BlenderMarket and as a YouTuber who wants to provide downloads along with tutorials, this frustrates me.”
Support future texture development via Patreon
If you want to support the project, StruffelProductions has a Patreon page where you can fund future work.
At the time of posting, new textures are being added daily, and Patreon funding is just $30/month shy of StruffelProduction adding free 3D scans to CC0 Textures as well.
