Get XS Gamestudios’ modular medieval buildings kit for free

Epic Games has partnered with XS Gamestudios to make its Sunset pack of modular medieval buildings free to download from the Unreal Engine store.

The pack is part of Epic’s free marketplace content for May 2022, which also features asset packs for creating coral reefs and pine forests.

Over 120 modular parts for creating medieval buildings, plus interior meshes
The Sunset – Modular Medieval Brick Buildings pack is a set of over 120 modular assets for creating low-poly medieval buildings, including castle walls and a castle keep, churches and houses.

For exterior environments, the pack includes rocks and cliff faces with dynamic moss materials, and 3D trees, clumps of grass, and other plants.

There are also over 40 interior meshes, plus furniture meshes and general ‘clutter’ meshes for set dressing.

The assets come 3-4 LODs, with texture maps at 2,048 x 2,048px or 4,096 x 4,096px resolution, and are designed to work in-game with parallax occlusion mapping and pixel depth offset.

System requirements and availability
XS Gamestudios’ Sunset – Modular Medieval Brick Buildings asset pack is available free via the Unreal Engine Marketplace during May 2022. It is compatible with Unreal Engine 4.20-4.25, 4.27 and 5.0.

The marketplace usage rights permit assets not created by Epic Games itself to be exported to other game engines and DCC software, although obviously, some features require Unreal Engine to work.
