> Can you tell us please a little bit about yourself and your background.

I'm originally from Germany, where growing up as an artist isn't the easiest choice to maintain, but I stood my ground and went relatively straight into it. After the fortunate chance to do digital illustrations for multimedia productions in my early teen years I went into 3d by the age of 19, I think. With real3d as the first serious 3d application I've used back on the Amiga, Lightwave3d came along much likea beautiful toy and finally confirmed my feelings that incredible things could be done in 3d with relatively great ease. When the internet became available to me and I began posting my work it brought me over the the States. There we developed messiah:Studio, which quickly became my main animation tool and eventually rendering as well. But Lightwave has remained my main modeling application and I've given a good number of demonstrations over the years and always with great pleasure. Artistically and technically I'm almost completely self taught, although I did attend a school for design for a number of years, but it didn't quite have any specific focus and therefore shouldn't be confused with any training in arts. I did love a lot about that time, though.

> What is your primary tool while working in 3D.

messiah:Studio is my primary tool for animation and rendering. For modeling I still use Lightwave, although I just began looking at Modo, too. So far I'm still extremely happy with Lightwave, though. My favorite sidestep and responsible for todays real glory everywhere is of course Zbrush. There's nothing I do without it.

> Do you use other applications such as Zbrush and Mudbox for doing some detailed modeling?

Yes, so much so that I had to mention it above already. Zbrush is a perfect gem. Again, nowadays there's practically nothing I do without Zbrush and it's the major contributer to my ability to deliver the kind of work I do within the kind of time and quality it's done. I mean, I don't mean to flatter myself there, I'm really blaming Zbrush for it all!
