Currently based in Germany, this is an artist you must keep an eye on as he's certainly bound for great things. Looking at his work, you can't help but think Syd Mead. His designs are very evocative, powerful, seductive, and… they move very fast!

With solid production experience in the car industry, working for names such as VW and Bugatti, his eyes seem pointed towards Hollywood where maybe, one day, some bold film director will ask him to conjure up something outrageous that goes really really fast for his big film project!

This December, in collaboration with Scott Robertson's Design Studio Press, Simon will release his first book entitled "Cosmic Motors". A collection of spectacular, imaginative vehicle designs, but never complete without a couple hot vixens to accessorize his ideas…

With great accolades from artists such as Syd Mead himself and Ryan Church, discover what the fuss is all about with Daniel Simon and his new book “Cosmic Motors”published by Design Studio Press.

JEH: If you were to find yourself in a plane, sitting right next to Syd Mead for 6 hours, what would you talk about?

Simon: Syd and I met a few times in L.A. I admired his work for many years. I still find it wired to be mentioned in the same phrase with this iconic artist. He even came to my book release party ... how crazy is that? And in the plane? We would fight for the window seat and chat about Detroit Cars, Michael Jackson’s theme park madness, the alternative ending of Blade Runner, the lack of finesse in today’s stewardess outfits, the sad end of the Concorde era , the inflation of digital art and the weather. And if he would call the Bugatti Veyron piggy again, I would swallow his connection flight boarding pass.

JEH: How did you meet with Scott Roberston?

Simon: Scott Robertson ( entertainment design chief at Art Center College of Design, Pasadena and publisher of Design Studio Press ) contacted me by email end of 2005, pitching the idea of publishing my work. I loved it. Only that all he had seen so far was very low res imagery on my website. Useless for high quality book printing. And it lacked a story too, so I had lots of work to do.
Scott is a fantastic artist, sharing all his talent and knowledge about concept art, book making and business. He opened many doors and got me in touch with leading artist from Hollywood. I owe him big time.
